The 100/10 Challenge

"Give me a lemon and I'll make it lemonade."
Do you think you could be saying this?

Do you smell a business opportunity everywhere, a way to earn money in everything?
You think you could give a tip or two to the food court owner on how to run his business better?
You think you can sell a comb to a bald guy? A mouse to a farmer? A PC to a Mac user?

If any of this is you, well buddy we got something for you. You get 8 hours and 2 minutes (disjunct) to prove your mettle. 100 bucks to prove if you can turn the lemon into the lemonade!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Am I allowed to go out of the campus?
You can go out of the campus if you wish, but you are expected not to indulge in any unethical or
illegal activity.

 2. Am I allowed to use the goods that I own?
You are allowed to use any goods like bike, computer etc. to cut your cost, as long as its use isn’t unfair to other participants. e.g. if you travel on a bike, the cost of petrol used should be factored in, just like a person traveling by bus would include the cost of buying the ticket(s). However, you are not allowed to spend money from your side. The only capital you can use is the amount you are given and the amount you can earn out of it. Any conflicts arising in this regard shall be resolved at the discretion of CEID.

      3. Can I use my computer to burn CDs and sell them in the market?
As specified by the Rules for Participation, indulging in any illegal activity will result in disqualification. So, as long as you are not indulging in any form of piracy, the aforementioned method can be used.

      4. What if I lose all or some money?
If you lose money, you won't be asked to return the lost amount. But you will be required to produce details of the cause and the way you incurred the loss.

      5. If I am not penalized on account of a loss, I can always show a loss and keep the money with me.
Yes you can! But we expect all fellow DA-IICTians to understand that, the capital requirement for the event is being met by the faculty coordinators of CEID who are involved with CEID for our benefit, and any losses incurred on the entire event will be borne by them. So it's better we remain          honest in our dealings. Although we don't have any mechanism to track you or your activities during the course of the event, but if a person is caught bluffing, serious action may be taken against his/her team.

      6. Why am I not given the entire profit I make?
This is the rule of the market! Since we are providing the seed money (although small) to all, we should have a share in the profit. It is mostly to make up for the amount some of the teams might lose and for the prize money we give. If any amount is left after that, it will go to CEID and will be used for the future activities organized by CEID.
